Greyson has guacamole in his diapersssssss

I got a call today from Greyson's daycare saying I had to come and get him. He'd had 2 loose stools. They said that some virus is going around and that they don't have it at their daycare yet and they are trying to keep from getting it there. The virus started with an S. It was a weird name. Anyway, Greyson's diarrhea is really bad and I don't know what to do about it. I can't bring him back to daycare until it's gone. So tomorrow I have to bring him to my sisters b/c I can't afford to take off anymore work. Does anyone know anything about this? Also, Greyson has never had diarrhea in his life. It is soooo bad. I am going through diapers like they're free.

Painting looks easy....

but it's far from it. We are painting or I should say I am painting some rooms in the house. Carlos was trying to help me but I took that privilege away after I saw it all over the ceiling and he still thought he was doing a good job, hahahahahha. I had to laugh at that. He really wouldn't care if the walls stayed the builder's white color. Me on the other hand, I don't even want to move in until it's painted the colors I want so I can hang my stuff up. I went shopping and bought some really cool abstract art. I can't wait to see what the house looks like when I'm done.

Moving sooooo sucks. It feels like it's never ending. Just when you think you're almost done you find 3 more places that have to be cleaned out and packed. We did get a little bit of stuff in the house today, but mainly I just painted. I am doing all the walls a sand color and one wall in the kitchen is orange. I love it. It looks really good with the dark cabinets.

I went to a storage place today to buy some boxes and walked out of there with packing tape and nothing more. The boxes were $1.99 a piece. FORGET THAT! I can't afford that. I used to get boxes from Walmart. They would save them from over night stocking and then I had to pick them up before 7am or they would get pitched. I called tonight to see if they would save me some for tomorrow but he said they don't do it anymore. However, he told me if I come in around midnight I could have all the boxes that I want. So here I am trying to stay up until midnight after being at the house ALL day long painting. I really need to go to bed!

One thing I notice at the house, there are ants all over. I guess cuz he didn't live there for a little while, but YUCK! I was trying to make a sandwich and they were freaking everywhere. At least it seemed that way to me......ewwww! Gross, I hate bugs! STAY OUTSIDE!

Hit the jackpot

My sister who loves my son as much as me has been begging me to let her quit her job so she can watch him. Well, I finally gave in when I realized how much money she would be saving us. We are paying $190.00 a week in daycare and she is only going to charge us $85.00. That's a lot of dough!!! I told her I would bump it up and make it an even $90 that we are giving her. I am really excited about this!!! That's an additional $400 a month, and he's with family!!!

Carlos and I are so excited to be moving to a new house. It is sooooo nice. See pictures below. My brothers friend got engaged 3 months after it was built and so he is selling it to us!!! We will be moving in pretty soon. Our landlord was not happy. But, what do you do? People are in and out of rentals all the time. This house has a yard and it's new!!! It has my dream kitchen!! Now I can have people over again to my house!!! See pictures below!

First time to the ZOO!!

Today Greyson and I went to the St. Louis Zoo with Angie, 2 of her boys, and her nephew. We had a really nice time. The weather couldn't have been any better. It was about 80ish with a great breeze. We didn't quite make it to see everything because Angie had to pick up her oldest son from school. But what we did see was really cool!!!

First day at daycare..

I took lots of pictures of Greyson's first day today. We got there at about 7:30. He starts off in the 2 year olds class for breakfast. Ms. Margie (his teacher) sat him down at the table. He had rice crispies cereal and a bowl of yogurt. I took some pictures of the paintings on the walls. It's really neat inside this daycare! I was a little emotional when I left but I knew he was going to be fine. They gave him a short morning nap as he got fussy around 9:00. He had spaghetti for lunch which is his favorite. When I picked him up he started bawling his eyes out like he missed me so much. Talk about breaking your heart. I couldn't pick him up fast enough. God, I love him.

Greyson starts Daycare tomorrow

Well, I bit the bullet and took him out of the the baby sitter's care. It was bittersweet but I know this is what's best for my son. I am going to start taking him tomorrow morning. I wish I didn't have to work a full day though on his 1st day. I do have a cousin that works there, so she'll pop in on him every now and then I'm sure. Thank you ALL for all of your encouragement and responses. It made my final decision!! I will be taking pictures tomorrow and will share them with you......surprise, LOL

What would you do?

I need some advice. First of all a little background on Greyson's sitter. She is about 48 yrs old and has been watching kids in my family for nearly 19 years. I wanted her to watch my son so bad, I moved to the city she lived in basically so she could watch him. My first baby, I trusted her...I wanted her bad. I remember picking up my nieces from there when they went to her and she'd give them all their little projects they had made that day. I just really got a good vibe from her. Well, I have noticed she doesn't give any of the kids any projects, because she doesn't' seem to be doing them with the kids anymore. I think she's burnt out.

Anyway, It all started this morning at 6:30. I was in bed and I could hear the phone ringing. We have talking caller I.D. so I knew who it was. I immediately jumped out of bed freaking because I knew it was my sitter calling off today. Let's go back about 2 months. The babysitter called me early in the morning and called off. She said she had an anxiety attack the night before and she took some meds that ended up making her sick all night long. She said her hands were shaking uncontrollably and she couldn't see herself watching kids that day. So, I was OK with that. I appreciated her telling me so I could find someone more able to watch my son. Well, this morning I answer the phone and she tells me she had another bad anxiety attack and so she took a couple of Lorazepams. I guess this is some strong stuff. She said she was sick all night long ans that the kitchen was spinning around her. She said that she didn't even think she would be able to read them a story. So, I get off the phone with her and decide I have to take Greyson out of her care and get him into daycare or a new sitter. I don't think my son needs to be in the care of someone that is stressed out like this. Kids are stressful. How can you be a sitter? 3 weeks ago, her Dad passed away and I had to pay someone else to watch him that whole week. That's really hard for me to do since I have no family members or friends who stay home. It's sad that her Dad passed, but my job is getting tired of me being late from looking for a sitter or not coming in because I can't find one.

I worked in a daycare when I was a teenager and I always said that I wouldn't take my kids to one. I remember the turnover there and I didn't like that. I did go interview 4 day cares today. I can't believe how expensive it is. I pay $120.00 now and they are asking between $190 per week to $225 per week. That's a lot of money. But, can you really put a price on good care for your child?

Tomorrow, I am taking Greyson back to the sitter. She has no clue that I'm thinking about taking him out of there. I am working a half day so I can go interview more centers. Please send some good vibes and prayers my way. I have to get him out of there.

All the way from England!

Dear Deborah,

I received your presents in the mail today! I can't believe they came all the way from England. I don't know where that is but Mommy says it's really far away. You are the nicest person I have NEVER met. I just wanted to say thank you for loving me as much as you do. I hope I will get to meet you someday!

Love,
Greyson

Way to go BRO!!!

When you ask me who my hero is, I would have to say my brother Gary. Yesterday he was in his second triathlon. I am so jealous of the motivation and energy he has! I admire him! So, we went to watch him and it was really fun!!! Way to go Gary, you're amazing!
